Importance of the route

El Cid Campeador was a famous Castilian knight of the Middle Ages who fought against the Taifa Kingdoms and their Emirs and sometimes against the Christian kings themselves (to whom he often did not pay homage), always commanding his own hosts.

Today a friend of Emirs and an enemy of Christian Kings, tomorrow the complete opposite; always fighting for his own interests and those of his people, his agreements and wars with each other are famous, worthy of the best diplomacy and cunning of characters in any episode of House of Cards, compared to today. In this Experience, we will travel through the areas of eastern Spain where El Cid traveled.

On this experience, we’ll enjoy many medieval castles, most of them perfectly preserved.

On the way to the Maestrazgo region, with its beautiful Morella at the head, we will stop in Puertomingalvo to enjoy its beautiful castle, and then, on the way to Cantavieja, we will delight in the beautiful medieval streets of Mirambell.

We will settle our resting place for two nights in Cantavieja, where we can discover the beauty of the famous Route of Silence, where we will discover the organs of Montoro and various villages with spectacular locations.

Next, we’ll leave Albarracín and its beautiful wall behind to reach Cuenca and enjoy its famous Hanging Houses, its gorges, and the beautiful karst landscape of the Enchanted City. We’ll end the trip by returning to Valencia, but not without passing through a beautiful wine-growing region full of vineyards.

This Experience is fantastic because 90% of its route runs along secondary roads with very little traffic, perfect for a motorcycle trip, for the visit to more than eight castles and medieval walled cities, for its unique landscapes and, of course, for the exclusive experience of discovering the famous Route of Silence.
